Entity-Jurisdiction Selector

Located at the top of every page, this is your primary navigation filter:

How it works:

  • All Entities: View everything you have access to
  • Specific Entity: Filter to one legal entity
  • Specific Jurisdiction: Narrow to one country
  • All pages respect this selection
  • Changes persist as you navigate between pages

The left sidebar provides access to all major sections:

Purpose: Central dashboard showing what needs your attention

Key Elements:

  • Status Overview: Color-coded filing statuses
  • Upload Data Button: Quick access to transaction upload
  • Filing Filters: View by deadline, status, entity
  • Action Items: What you need to do today

2. Calendar - Deadline Visualization

Purpose: See all filing deadlines at a glance

Views Available:

  • Month View: Full month overview
  • Week View: Detailed weekly planning
  • List View: Sequential deadline list

3. Documents - Central Repository

Purpose: Access all compliance-related documents

Organization:

  • Filtered by entity/jurisdiction (using selector)
  • Grouped by document type
  • Searchable by period or keyword

4. Filings - Detailed Management

Purpose: Comprehensive filing management and tracking

List View Features:

  • Filters: 30 Days, Past Due, Upcoming, In Progress, Filed
  • Bulk Actions: Select multiple filings
  • Upload Button: Direct to Transaction Wizard

Filing Modal (opens when clicking a filing):

  • Tabs: Info, Transactions, Draft Return, Payment, Documents
  • Actions: Approve, Send for Review, Mark Filed
  • Tasks: Shows required actions for the filing

5. Transactions - Data Processing Hub

Purpose: Upload and process tax transaction data

Two Main Areas:

Transaction Wizard (Step-by-step data processing):

  1. Upload → Select files and mappings
  2. Date Overview → Verify period assignments
  3. Review Files → Check completeness
  4. Resolve Errors → Fix validation issues
  5. Review & Submit → Commit to ledger

Transaction Integration (After wizard completion):

  • View all processed transactions
  • Filter by period, type, status
  • Export for analysis

6. Transactions Integration - Automated Data Processing

Purpose: Central hub for viewing and managing all transactions flowing into Abacus from integrated source systems.

Key Elements:

  • View all transactions for selected entity/jurisdiction
  • Search by invoice number or customer name
  • Filter by date range, jurisdiction, transaction type, and more
  • Export transaction data for reporting
  • Track transaction sources and integration origins

7. Customers - Client and Customer Management

Purpose: Comprehensive customer management, displaying all customers associated with a specific entity and jurisdiction.

Key Elements:

  • View and search all customers for selected entity/jurisdiction
  • Create customers manually (for non-integration clients)
  • Manage customer types and classifications
  • Track customer exemptions and their validity periods
  • Access complete transaction history per customer

8. Exemptions - Exemption Certificate Management

Purpose: Dedicated hub for managing tax exemption certificates across all customers.

Key Elements:

  • View all exemption certificates across customers
  • Search exemptions by customer name
  • Track certificate expiration with visual alerts
  • Upload and view exemption certificates (PDF, PNG, JPEG)
  • Create new exemptions manually
  • Monitor active and inactive exemption status

9. Global Settings - Configuration Center

Purpose: System configuration and user management

Three Main Sections:

Account (Top level):

  • Company information
  • Account-wide settings
  • User roles at account level

Entity (Legal entities):

Understanding Status Indicators

Color Coding
  • 🔴 Red - Past due/Errors requiring attention
  • 🟡 Yellow - Warnings/Upcoming deadlines
  • 🟢 Green - Complete/No issues
  • 🔵 Blue - In progress/Processing
  • Gray - Future/Inactive
